One person was killed and two others were injured Sunday morning after a possible drunk driving incident in Colorado Springs.

East and west bound Garden of the Gods Road were closed between 30th and Arrowswest Drive for hours.

It happened around 4:30 a.m. Sunday.

Police tell 11 News that the driver was speeding, lost control and hit the median. The car rolled and one of the passengers was thrown out. That person died at the scene. He's been identified as 19-year-old David Mueller.

Another passenger had to be removed with the help of the fire department with a reported serious head injury. That passenger was a teenage girl under the age of 18. She's in fair condition Monday at Penrose Hospital.

The driver, 18-year-old Dylan Salazar, was arrested. He had minor injuries. (Salazar has since turned 19 years old; his birthday is July 20th).

Cops say that speed and alcohol are factors in the crash.
