The accused cop killer was back in court again. Today, Marco Lee learned all the charges he now faces, which include four counts of attempted murder, possession of a weapon by a previous offender and driving under the influence.
The 25-year-old is accused of gunning down Colorado Springs Officer Ken Jordan a month ago when Lee was pulled over as a suspected drunk driver. Originally booked at the Criminal Justice Center, Lee was orginally charged with first degree murder. The attempted murder charges now brought against him are for allegedly shooting at the other two police officers on scene that Decemeber night.
The German Consulate met with Marco Lee for the first time today. That's because Lee is apparently a German citizen. This could possibly turn into a death penalty case and since capital punishment is not permitted in Germany, the consulate says they have an obligation to protect him. The district attorney has months before they'll decide if they're going to pursue death penalty.
Lee will be back in court in February.
