If you want a second home in Vail, but only can part with a fraction of a down-payment, here’s a program for you.

The Vail Academy is giving away a ski vacation home in the resort town, as the grand prize in a school raffle. Tickets will be sold for $100. The 4-bedroom home is valued at more than $1,000,000.

The school’s administrators say the economic downturn has made it more difficult for non-profits to raise money, so the school decided to turn to their backyard to help meet their financial needs.

The vacation home prize is the east side of a duplex on Matterhorn Circle.

The school is located between Vail and Beaver Creek, and has 100-125 students.

The grand prize drawing will be held on October 16th, 2009. There are $3,000 cash drawings every week until then, to encourage people to enter the raffle early.
