When a gunman went on a spree at New Life Church back in December of 2007, security guard Jeanne Assam stepped in and took down the shooter before he could take any more church members' lives.

Jeanne assam was not a security guard at the church. She was a volunteer church member in plainclothes who was armed. The liberal media just cannot accept the idea that an armed citizen accomplished what the gun control crazies believe can only be accomplished by the police.

In response to (A): I really have nothing against people believing in God, and people having guns. I grew up with both I guess. A also have nothing against people trying to capitalize off of their situations by writing books. It just seems weird in this instance. "i had a vision" "and our bullets crossed midair" this sounds like exerpts from her book,- and now she's speaking in front of a group Pikes Peak Firearms Coalition?

Agreed bpbp, but as a Christian I do believe she was put there on purpose. However, yes, I agree ... its my understanding he killed himself. Let's not forget he gunned down a FAMILY, and DID kill people. The "vision" is new ... when did the "vision" come into the story? I have heard of dreams that are predictive ... but a "vision"? I don't remember that in 07'.

To bpbp: What is your problem with her writing a book? I thought this was a free country. What is your problem with people believing in Gon or having guns? Nobody is forcing you to believe in God or get a gun. Why shuold people like you force other people not to believe in God or not to have a gun? If she didn't have a gun probably more people would have died.

this woman is doing nothing more than looking for glory. she once was fired from a law enforcement job and now shes a rental cop! big deal right. now she's back in the news looking for more hype. i personally have no use for her or want to hear anything coming from her mouth. she didn't kill this guy, he killed himself. she's lucky she isn't dead. go take your mouth and your garbage talk elsewhere.

I was at the PPFC meeting. Jeanne is a true hero, and her story was very moving.

This isn't even the anniversary of the shooting. Why do we have to hear about this again?

so she is writing a book. Seems like everybody is writing a book. I don't see how these events could add up to entire book but maybe if you include the "vision" part - it may.. And by the way, I may be wrong, but I though it was found that the gunman actually took his own life. She may have hit him but I think he actually killed himself. Seems kind of weird - same folks who like to push religion also seen to push guns. Nothing against Ms. Assam, I do think she was in the right place and acted appropriately to stop him.
