Cold conditions will continue through the end of the weekend. Highs will remain well below freezing for most, in the 20s. Snow showers will begin to the west by the mid afternoon with better chances for areas of snow along the I-25 corridor by evening. (Breckenridge-AP) -- The Breckenridge ski area may resort to ``blackout days'' to reduce crowding on the slopes. Those with season passes would have to buy a separate ticket on those days.
Blackout days are typically scheduled during peak skier days, such as holidays.
Other proposals to reduce crowding include creating a ``premium day''. Pass-holders could present their ski pass and pay an additional fee to ski.
Breckenridge officials say they want to make sure all skiers have a good experience. The ski area reported a record million and a half skiers last season -- making it the most densely packed resort in the country.
