An afternoon cold front will limit afternoon temperatures to the 50-60s on Thursday. Expect the chance for rain showers this afternoon, transitioning to a rain/snow mix overnight and for the first half of Friday. Higher elevations have the best chance to see accumulating snow, although snowfall totals look fairly low at this time, with 1-2" possible for Monument and areas of Teller County. A nonprofit watchdog group has filed a lawsuit against the Pueblo City Council over its plan to sell city land to a private prison firm.
The Colorado Criminal Justice Reform Coalition claims the council violated Colorado's open meetings law and local zoning ordinances when it committed land at an industrial park to the firm W-C-C.
Attorney Alison Maynard says the council could have avoided the court challenge by following state and local protocol.
