Police say they were called out to apartments at 127 University Drive just before 1 a.m. Sunday. Officers spoke with the victim who told them that he had confronted three men that were being loud on the exterior balcony of the apartment.

The victim told police he had asked the men to quiet down and the men then came down to his apartment, opened his screen door and pulled him out of his house and began to assault him.

During the fight, one of the suspects suffered a wound to the head. When police went to the apartment of the suspects, they refused to open the door. The officers forced themselves inside to do a welfare check on the man with the head wound. The officers say they then tried to contact the second man inside. Police say that man refused to follow officer commands, so he was tased.

Both of the men, as well as a third man that was found at a nearby residence, were arrested for first degree burglary and third degree assault. The men have been identified as Gilberto Bermudas, Benjamin Hernandez and Fernando Bermudas.
