Autopsy results Monday reveal 9-month-old Iyana Perez in Pueblo died from head injuries.

Pueblo Police Detective Sgt. Eric Bravo tells 11 News that the suspect in the case, 22-year-old Kevin Buehler, the girl's cousin, has admitted to his involvement in the infant's death.

Early Friday morning, police were called to a report of a missing baby at 3009 N. Elizabeth, a mobile home where they were met by three people. They told police that between 4 a.m. and 10 a.m. Friday, someone unlocked the front door and took the infant.

Pueblo police immediately canvassed the area in search for the child and requested assistance from El Paso County Search and Rescue who brought a cadaver dog to assist in the effort.

With the dog's help, the body of Iyana Perez was found in a dumpster in an alley next to the Safeway Grocery Store at the corner of 29th and Elizabeth.

Pueblo Police Department Sgt. Eric Bravo said, "Their stories really were not consistent to what we we're finding." Those interviewed include the girl's aunt, uncle, and the suspect, Kevin Buehler.

According to the arrest affidavit obtained by 11 News, Buehler claims the baby died from drinking cologne and lotion. He says he knew the baby was dead when he put it in the dumpster.

However, police say Buehler made no attempte to save the baby or call for help. He is now behind bars in Pueblo, facing charges of child abuse resulting in death. Cops say Buehler potentially faces additional charges, but that's up to the district attorney's office.

The Pueblo County Coroner says toxicology reports will take several weeks to be completed.

Sgt. Bravo tells 11 News that if the autopsy shows that the aunt and uncle would have known what was going on, charges could be filed against the aunt and uncle, in addition to those against Buehler.

The mother and father of the child have been cleared at this time of any involvement in the death of the child.

Death penalty people!!! Why don't all states have it? Unfortunately, we can't torture these monsters first and then kill them.
