Pueblo police are investigating the death of a young child. Authorities issued an alert Friday afternoon when 9-month-old Iyana Perez went missing. Authorities suspected that Perez's mother, Selena Olson, might have abducted her. She reportedly did not have custody of the baby.

Police were called out to 3009 N. Elizabeth Friday morning. When they got there, three occupants told officers that someone entered the trailer through an unlocked front door and took the infant.

Authorities started searching for the child in the trailer park. Investigators eventually found the body of an infant girl in a trash dumpster behind the Safeway grocery store at 29th and Elizabeth.

The body has been tentatively identified the missing girl, 9-month-old Iyana Perez.

The girl’s cousin, 22-year-old Kevin Buehler, is in custody. He is due in court at 2 p.m. Monday.

The cause of death is unknown. An autopsy will be performed.

I am so upset by another senseless murder of a child in the Pueblo area. 1st the little girl in Pueblo west who was killed by a neighbor and now an infant killed by a family member/friend. When is enough enough. Thank goodness the police and sheriff are taking these serious and finding the perpatrators quickley. Maybe these two men should share a cell for the rest of their rotten lives and think about what they have done

I look at her little face and I just cry. This little angel didn't have a chance-it turns out both the mother and father(a registered sex offender no less) are in jail and this stupid b=ch is blaming dss saying if the baby was with her this would have never happened. She is 23 years old with older children, she is incarcerated, she is on drugs, and she wants to blame DSS? How about taking some blame yourself and realizing-number 1-QUIT having kids you cant take care of-2-stay out of jail and take care of your babies 3-get off drugs and try to be a real mom to your other kids! And may whoever did this burn in hell!

Seriously?!? I think this is made worse by the fact it was probably a member of the family that did this... 9 months old - so tragic! I have a 1 year old and I can't imagine something like this happening to my son. Which is why our front door is always locked unless an adult is in the front room. A sad, but safe way to live....
