The Colorado Mental Health Institute at Pueblo says they have located a patient who walked away from the hospital after getting a pass to leave.

The institute says 29-year-old Eric Lange was located around 9:26 am on July 3 at a local business in Pueblo. He is now in custody. He went missing around 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 2.

Lange was committed to the institute back in 2005 after pleading not guilty by reason of insanity to arson charges in Larimer county.

In the past, Lange had also has a conviction of 3rd degree assault from 2005, in which he pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to unsupervised probation.

The following is a statement released by the Colorado Mental Health Institute at Pueblo when Lange went missing:

" When the patients are in a controlled environment and are taking their medications we feel they are not a danger, but there is a potential for them to be a threat to public safety when they are not in the controlled environment."
