Scrub Tech May Have Exposed Thousands To Hepatitis C
A former surgery technician may have exposed thousands of Colorado patients to Hepatitis C when she swapped her own dirty syringes for ones filled with a powerful pain killer. Call 1-719-571-4440 if you were seen at the Audubon Ambulatory Surgery Center between May 4, 2009 until July 1, 2009.

The employer did due diligence before hiring her. Most medical professional areas due random drug screening. She had only been working at Audobon for just over a month. Audobon did drug testing on her before they hired her. This is a shame. My daughter had surgery and may have been exposed but blaming the surgical center when they followed guidlines is not going to do anyone any good. My daughters doctor told me that he was in many of his operations and gave no indication that something was amiss. What is done is done. The only thing left is her to get the punishment she deserves. A very harsh punishment.

Unfortunately there are no tests for morality. She had professional training to tell her how wrong and how evil this was. If it is true, no leniency, make her a case example.

My daughter was one of the patients at Audobun, I just called her husand to see if he heard the news of course he did not. I think the hotline needs to be opened 24 hours because some patients may have not heard about this yet. It is ashame that they will have to wait to speak to someone on Monday including my daughter.

how could you have someone like this working in the medical field? there should be random drug tests in all medical facilities, now becasue of this woman all of us paitents who were there have to worry about getting tested to see if we have an incurrible disease. this is discusting. I myself had surgery at the audubon, now i am at risk because of this stupid woman. makes me sick to my stomach to think about.

When I heard about this, my stomach dropped to the ground. I feel so sorry for the innocent people who end up contracting this. This woman should get the death penalty. There is no excuse for this. This is an irreversible process and its horrible.

This woman has exposed more people here locally then there are people in some small cities. This is a form of terrorism which should be punished. i had surgery at Bon a year ago this month so i will be devoutly following this story. It is frightening what one persons act of selfishness can lead to.

I just read the Hepatitis C story. I had surgery at Rose Medical Center in May and was a little concerned until I checked the hospital web site and found out that only people who had surgery from October to April there are at risk. Your story didn't make that clear and you need to clarify that for people like me. Thank you.

Don't employers do even random drug tests anymore? I would guess her drug use would have showed up. Especially in the medical field with patient contact. Sheesh!

Disgusting.... this is homicide! She intentionally exposed those people to a deadly disease that can kill and or make them live a hard and sick ridden life. Shame on her for her selfishness and for making honorable people in her profession look bad!
