Officials say a wildfire burning on the line between Garfield and Eagle counties was sparked about noon and by tonight was estimated to be between 1,900 and 2,400 acres.

Garfield County Sheriff Tom Delassandri and Carbondale Fire
Chief Ron Leach held a news conference this evening about the
Panorama Fire.

Officials say it was sparked earlier Wednesday by a construction crew cutting rebar with a saw. Now it's forced the evacuations of several subdivisions in the Missouri Heights area between Basalt and Carbondale and the evacuees are being directed to the community center in El Jebel.

An estimated 200 homes were evacuated and officials say at least
two homes were destroyed and possibly up to four.

Slurry bombers have been dispatched to the fire and a Type Two fire management team is scheduled to arrive.
