Fire crews are mopping up a structure fire in Monument. Officials say the Coffee Cup Cafe was fully engulfed when they arrived on scene around 5:45 Tuesday night.

Crews were called to the scene at 251 Front Street. Lt. Lari Sevene from the El Paso County Sheriff's Office tells 11 News a police officer was actually on scene and reported the blaze.

Fire crews were able to get the fire out quickly, but some stores did not escape damage. The Prickly Pear is a few doors down, but so much water came into the store, it will likely not be open during one of the busiest weekends of the year.

There is also concern with this building because it is mostly made of wood and there is no sprinkler system. The fast work of the fire department however saved the building.

No one was hurt, and there is no estimate on the damage.

We will rebuild, I promise! Just have to wait for insurance to do its thing before we can clean up and proceed.... Visit us at A Second Cup in Gleneagle in the meantime, and please continue to support the downtown Monument businesses!

OM Gosh, I love The Coffee Cup. I am sure if they do a fundraiser EVERONE would help take care of the rebuiding.

This is sad, hope they rebuild. There is no place like the Coffee Cup.
