First Lady Laura Bush had skin cancer removed from her right shin in early November but decided it was a private matter and did not reveal it publicly until now.
In fact, her spokeswoman calls it "no big deal."
The cancer was identified as a squamous cell carcinoma, a malignant tumor that is the second most common form of skin cancer.
It's a highly curable form.
The first lady was observed wearing a bandage on her right leg before the election. At the time, her Press Secretary said Mrs. Bush had a sore on her shin.
