People in Leadville are mourning the loss of a 19-year-old Marine killed in Iraq this weekend.
Nick Palmer was killed by a sniper in Fallujah on Saturday. His parents, Rachele and Brad Palmer, say he decided to join the Marine Corps when he was a junior in high school.
The town's streets are lined with American flags in his honor. About 200 people have stopped by to offer their condolences to the Palmers, some of them leaving yellow ribbons, flowers and flags on the porch.
Palmer was killed during combat in western Anbar province. A soldier was killed Friday in the same area. At least 59 Americans have been killed in Iraq this month.
