A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for *ALL* of southeast Colorado from 2pm Tuesday until 3am Wednesday. Storms will be capable of producing very heavy rain not only near area burn scars but across the region. Colorado Springs fire investigators are working to determine the exact cause of a fire that displaced 17 people Saturday night.
The blaze was first reported around 9:30pm at the Citadel Village Apartments located at 913 Chelton Road. It took fire crews about 30 minutes to knock down the main body of the fire, which was completely under control in about an hour and a half.
At least two of apartments in the building were destroyed, and others suffered some smoke damage. Early estimates show damage to be around $60,000.
Firefighters say the cause appears to be accidential, but the investigation is continuing.
