After a mild Saturday, temperatures to finish the weekend will be MUCH colder! A system to our west pushes into SE Colorado overnight. Snow showers will be possible by early Sunday morning across the I-25 corridor with a change to rain and snow showers through the afternoon. Accumulation should be minimal as most moisture looks to be light and temperatures will warm into the upper 30s and 40s through the afternoon. The federal government has awarded a Longmont company a multi-million-dollar contract to develop a new spy satellite.
DigitalGlobe of Longmont edged out rival Space Imaging of Thornton to win the contract worth more than 500 million dollars.
Officials at the two companies had expected to split the
five-year contract from the National Imagery and Mapping Agency.
DigitalGlobe specializes in high resolution commercial satellite
The company will hire 50 people this year to begin working on
the NextView project and another 50 employees over the next few
