The Colorado Gaming Association says its member casinos are adding jobs and investing in improvements before new laws allow expanded gambling, beginning July 2.

The association says a survey of its members shows casinos have made nearly $3 million in capital investments and have added more than 750 jobs because voters approved the expansion.

The measure cleared the way for Colorado's mountain casino towns of Black Hawk, Cripple Creek and Central City to offer 24-hour gambling, raise betting limits from $5 to $100 and add craps and roulette, starting this summer.

The association says the casino industry employs more than 9,000 people in Colorado.
