No Call List

U.S. District Judge Edward Nottingham of Denver issued that
ruling last week, calling the list unconstitutional on free speech
grounds because it applies to calls from businesses but not
charities.

That decision blocked the F-T-C from enforcing the list. It was
to take effect tomorrow.

An attorney for the F-T-C told the Tenth U-S Circuit Court of
Appeals in Denver that Nottingham was wrong to assume charitable
calls are just as invasive as commercial calls.

Meantime, the operators of the national do-not-call list are
moving to prevent people from adding new numbers to the registry.
