Two More Coloradans Die From West Nile Virus

State health officials say two more deaths in Colorado have been attributed to the West Nile virus and its complications. That raises the state's 2003 death toll from West Nile to 42.

Officials identified the latest victims added to the list only as an 86-year-old woman from Boulder County who was suffering from encephalitis and a woman from Otero County who also was suffering from encephalitis.

The Boulder County woman died on September 21st but the age and the date of death for the Otero County victim were not reported because of the small population in the county.

Health officials also reported 22 new human cases -- bringing the state's total to 2,013.
