The father of a Greeley man shot to death in a standoff with police yesterday says he wishes authorities had let him talk his son out of the apartment where he was barricaded inside.
Authorities say they tried to arrest 23-year-old Isaac Aragon on multiple warrants yesterday afternoon, but he fired a gun at them and ran inside his apartment and refused to come out.
Greeley Police say Aragon had been on Weld County's Most Wanted list since September, accused of attempted murder in a beating involving a baseball bat.
Police opened fire about 6 p-m. Aragon was shot dead.
The man's father, Gary Aragon, says he asked police for a chance to talk his son out, but they refused, saying they had the situation under control. Gary Aragon says his son may have been on drugs.
