A father accused of kidnapping his 14 month old son Saturday from his home in Lafayette, is still at large.
Lafayette police say 23 year old Jacub Dentler beat the Jayton's mother before leaving with him, without permission. He is wanteed on charges of kidnapping a minor, aggravated assault and obstruction of justice.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation authorities issued an Amber Alert after Dentler left with the boy. Lafayette Commander Rick Bashor says the father heard the Amber Alert and knew there was a nationwide search.
Dentler drove to Des Moines, Iowa, where he dropped off the boy
at an uncle's home unharmed. The uncle called the mother, Vanessa
Martinez, Sunday morning.
