Snow is expected to develop for our Monday afternoon and overnight hours. Bands of heavier snow are possible..and something we will be monitoring throughout the day today. A Winter Storm Watch has been issued for far northern El Paso County where ~4" are possible by Tuesday morning. Also ahead, a High Wind Watch for much of southeast Colorado from 4-11am Tuesday morning as wind gusts could reach up to 60 mph. Four of the campgrounds have been closed all summer. The fifth
has been periodically off-limits because of washed-out roads.
They would be the first campgrounds permanently closed as a
result of the 137-thousand-acre Hayman fire.
The blaze burned for three weeks.
In addition to flooding problems, the campgrounds also contain

deciding whether to close those campgrounds in the Pike National
The deadline for input is October 15th.
