Authorities are looking into a prostitute's claims that she barely escaped an attack by suspected serial killer Richard Paul White.

The woman, who is now in prison, says that White picked her up and then stabbed her five times with an ice pick while they were stopped in a parking lot. She says White drove off when he noticed someone nearby and she was able to jump out of his moving pick up truck.

Police say she may be able to help the investigation by explaining when White allegedly became violent.

White was arrested in the shooting death of an Aurora man last week and he then allegedly confessed to killing as many as five prostitutes.

Authorities in Otero County in southern Colorado plan to resume a search Monday for an alleged victim who may be buried there.

Costilla County authorities are also searching there for possible bodies.
