One Security Guard Dead, One Hurt In Denver Shooting
A security guard is dead and another is hospitalized after an overnight shooting outside a Denver nightclub.

A security guard is dead and another is hospitalized after an overnight shooting outside a Denver nightclub.

Police say the shooting occurred shortly before 1:00 a.m. Friday at El Chaparral, in the 2700 block of West 6th Avenue near Interstate 25, as the club was starting to close up for the night.

Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson says someone in the crowd opened fire, striking the two guards. One of them died at the scene, while the second was taken to Denver Health Medical Center.

The injured guard's condition has not been released.

Jackson says police have no suspect information, but authorities are looking for a dark-colored sedan with broken windows.
