The Humane Society is dealing with a budget shortfall. Now, they're increasing fees in an attempt to make up the difference. City Council approved the pet licensing ordinance Tuesday afternoon in a 5 to 4 vote.
That means a one year altered license for a spayed or neutered dog or cat will go from $10 to $12. An unaltered license for pets that have not been spayed or neutered will go from $20 to $25.
The pet ordinance goes into effect on October 1st.
