Police still want all of us to keep an eye out for this little boy and his parents. As of Tuesday evening there is no change, and no new information from authorities. We're keeping it on the home page as a constant reminder that the search continues.

The Colorado Springs Police Department issued an Amber Alert for the 23-month-old boy late last Friday night.

Police believe the boy is with his mom and dad. The family lives near Fountain Blvd. and Chelton Rd.

"He's missing along with his parents," said Sgt. Jim Jeffcoat with the Colorado Springs Police Department.

23-month-old Emanuel Guzman's dad is 29-year-old Benito Guzman. He is 5'8" tall, 180 lbs, with black hair and brown eyes. His mom is 30-year-old Carmen Aguilera. She is 5'6" tall, 130 lbs, and has black hair and brown eyes.

Police say all three could possibly be headed for Mexico or could still be in the Colorado Springs area.

The reason police are looking for all three is because they believe Emanuel Guzman is in danger.

The Amber Alert was issued after his parents failed to show up for court on Thursday. Both are accused of child abuse.

Police say Emanuel Guzman is in desperate need of a doctor and time is of the essence. "The longer he's away from medical attention, the more risk of infection or illness," said Sgt. Jeffcoat.

Authorities want to know how little Emanuel ended up with severe burns to his hands last month. Was it accidental or is he being abused?

The Colorado Springs Crimes Against Children is investigating his parents. "We have so many unanswered questions," said Sgt. Jeffcoat.

The El Paso County Department of Human Services also has a court order to gain custody of Emanuel Guzman.

Residents who live in the little boy's neighborhood say they're confused. "You would think that the parents are the ones who want the kid's best interest at heart," said Megan Foreman who lives in the area.

Emanuel's parents could be driving a 2004 tan Ford pick-up. Colorado license plate, 491-SKZ or a 1999 brown Jeep Grand Cherokee. Colorado license plate number, 781-SLH.

Authorities want you to keep your eyes open. If you spot Emanuel or his parents, call 911.

Both Colorado Springs police and DHS are working hand in hand to make sure little Emanuel is brought to safety.

It is also still unclear whether Guzman or Aguilera have family in Colorado Springs and/or Mexico.

I find it funny how the people who are friends with these individuals, cannot write sentences. Even if you did not make it past 8th grade, you should have already learned how to write a sentence, instead of a run-on sentence. Yes, the child may have gotten into something. I've seen a child grab an oven rack, or touch a stove. But, there is also the chance that the parents did do something. Of course their friends are going to attempt to make them look innocent. Especially if they are abusive to their children. But at the same time, how many hispanics are actually abusive to their CHILDREN. I worked in a children's shoe department and the worst behaved children were those of parents who didn't speak english. If they were abused, they would sit quietly instead of acting like animals. As a matter of fact, I think I have seen these people come into the department, looking for BIG sales of course. If they were innocent, they should have fought to prove that, instead of suspiciously running.
