Colorado's high gasoline prices are setting records, even as prices drop in most other states.

The average price of unleaded regular is $1.73 per gallon, beating the post-Labor Day record set two years ago by less than a penny.

Industry experts say it might take another four to six days for prices to drop as gas stations try to sell off stocks of high-priced gas.

Gas prices were driven up by a ruptured pipeline in Arizona and a loss of production at refineries hit by the Northeast blackout.

This week lower crude-oil prices have sent gasoline prices tumbling in 30 states.
