An Air Force Academy cadet charged with raping a female student in his dorm room faces a court-martial starting Tuesday.
Junior Cadet John A.-Aguilar is accused of assaulting the woman in October 2003, while both were students at the academy's preparatory school.
Authorities say the woman told counselors at the school about the incident in May, but that she no longer attends the academy.
Academy Superintendent Lieutenant General John Regni ordered a court-martial following a hearing in august.
Under military law, rape is punishable by up to life in prison -- or death, if there are aggravating circumstances.
