Colorado Weather Hits High Country

It's snowing in parts of the High Country and eastbound Interstate 70 at Vail Pass is closed because of several accidents.

The highway is icy, snowpacked and visibility has been hampered by gusty winds and falling snow.

There's no estimate yet on when I-70 will reopen.

This storm system is expected to bring up to 18 inches of snow on several passes by this weekend.

That includes Rabbit Ears near Steamboat Springs, Berthoud Pass near Winter Park and Loveland above Georgetown, as well as Vail Pass.
