Former P-0-W Jessica Lynch, the Iraq war's most recognized soldier, has been honorably discharged from the Army.
The 20-year-old Lynch suffered multiple broken bones and other
injuries when her 507th Maintenance Company was ambushed in the
southern Iraqi city in March. Her rescue on April first from an
Iraqi hospital by special forces quickly made an American hero out
of the soldier from West Virginia.
She is still recovering from her injuries and will continue
physical therapy at a hospital in Parkersburg, West Virginia.
Lynch hopes to make enough progress to travel to Colorado to celebrate Thanksgiving with her fiance and his family.
Her fiance is Army Sergeant Ruben Contreras Junior -- who is
from the Colorado Springs area.
