You can expect more cloud cover and cooler temperatures today. By later this afternoon, rain showers will develop across the Pikes Peak Region and slowly drift southward. These rain showers will quickly change to snow at higher elevations, and accumulations will be likely. At lower elevations, snow accumulation does not appear to be a big deal. The Department of Defense announced the death of another Fort Carson soldier in Iraq. The government says Specialist David Goldberg died today from a non-combat related injury.
The 20-year-old Utah man was assigned to C Company, 52nd Engineer Combat Battalion, U-S Army Reserve, 43rd Area Support Group.
Goldberg is the 32nd soldier stationed at Fort Carson to die while in Iraq.
The Department of Defense says the incident is under investigation, but provided no other details.
Fort Carson has sent 12-thousand troops to Iraq. That's its largest deployment since World War II.
