At about 3:51 Wednesday morning, Mars will be closer to Earth than it has been in 60,000 years. Experts say the exact distance will be 34,646,418 miles.

The Grand Canyon of Mars if 3,000 miles about the distance between New York and San Francisco.

Over the next few nights, you'll be able to see the Red Planet in the southern sky. The best time to catch it is around 9 or 10 at night.

The CSU Pueblo observatory near the Nature Center will be open to the public for the next two nights.

The observatory near the nature center in Pueblo will be open at 8:30 Tuesday night or tomorrow.

In Colorado Springs you can go to the Sky Sox parking lot Wednesday night between 8 and 11. Telescopes will be provided.
