Plans by Nestle to draw and ship spring water from the Arkansas River for its bottled water business have touched off an intense public debate in Chaffee County.
The county is considering whether to issue a land-use permit to Nestle Waters North America. The company owns land and water rights near Nathrop, north of Salida, and says it plans to invest $15 million to withdraw 65 million gallons of water a year and build a pipeline to ship it to a bottling plant in Denver.
Opponents worry about the long-term effects on the area. Nestle says the amount of water drawn would be small and the benefits would include temporary construction jobs and increased tax revenue for the county.

Temporary construction jobs and increased tax revenue are the key concept. Anything big business touches in Colorado has not been good historically. They will never clean it up, will not remain accountable, and damage are natural resources. Not good.
I'm throwing down the BS card, Nestle.
