Roads are icy in spots that saw accumulating snow yesterday. Allow yourself plenty of extra time this morning and dress warmly, as wind chills are in the single digits and teens for many. A second disturbance will bring another round of snow showers to the Front Range this afternoon and early evening. While not as heavy as yesterday, some additional light accumulations over the higher terrain will be possible, including Teller and Northern El Paso Counties. Fort Carson has released the names of two soldiers who died in Iraq over the weekend. Specialist Stephen Scott of Guthrie, Oklahoma, died from a non-hostile gunshot wound. The 21-year-old Scott was assigned to the Third Armored Cavalry Regiment based at Fort Carson.
Private First Class Vorn Mack of Orangeburg, South Carolina, drowned in the Euphrates River. The 19-year-old solider was also assigned to the Third Armored Cavalry. No other details were released.
The soldiers were the 15th and 16th Fort Carson soldiers to die in Iraq since the war began.
