A former Quiznos advertising executive will stand trial next year for allegedly attempting to lure a person he thought was a teenage girl into a sexual encounter.
A judge ruled Tuesday that prosecutors presented enough evidence to try Scott Darrell Lippitt. Charges against the 47-year-old include attempted sexual assault on a child and enticement of a child.
A jury trial is scheduled for March 26th.
Police say Lippitt, of Englewood, was arrested August 2nd after he drove to Canon City to meet a person he believed was a 13-year-old girl he encountered on the Internet. The "girl" was a police detective.
Gary Lozow, Lippitt's attorney, has said his client will "vigorously" defend himself against the charges.
