Light snow will stick around for the first half of the afternoon, with bands of moderate to heavy snow possible by the second half of the afternoon and evening. Friday we see snow wind down but the cold hangs on with temperatures only in the teens and wind chill values below or near zero for most of the day. A former Quiznos advertising executive will stand trial next year for allegedly attempting to lure a person he thought was a teenage girl into a sexual encounter.
A judge ruled Tuesday that prosecutors presented enough evidence to try Scott Darrell Lippitt. Charges against the 47-year-old include attempted sexual assault on a child and enticement of a child.
A jury trial is scheduled for March 26th.
Police say Lippitt, of Englewood, was arrested August 2nd after he drove to Canon City to meet a person he believed was a 13-year-old girl he encountered on the Internet. The "girl" was a police detective.
Gary Lozow, Lippitt's attorney, has said his client will "vigorously" defend himself against the charges.
