The Baca County Sheriff's Office and Springfield Police Department are investigating an attempted murder-suicide that happened in a Springfield home this weekend.

Authorities say they responded to the home of Andrea Hetzel and Damian Greenlee on Saturday at 7:55 a.m. Officials say Hetzel was alive but had injuries consistent with an attempted strangulation. Greenlee was found near the home with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was transported to Southeast Colorado Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Officials believe Greenlee is responsible for attempting to strangle and kill Hetzel. She is listed in stable condition.

Officials are not saying how the two people may know each other.

"We are working to determine what lead to these events," said Baca County Sheriff Steve Salzbrenner. "At this point, we do not have reason to believe anyone else was involved."

I am responding to the poll question...are you looking for a job right now...Many people are taking advantage of unemployement..pure laziness. People call my company and ask if we are hiring and I tell them that they have to come in and fill out an application and they hang up...they aren't going to business' like we use to...I won't even give them my name so they can write down that they spoke with me. morons...I wouldn't hire any of them. I admire people who come in my office in person.
