A group that represents southeastern Colorado counties has informally endorsed a two billion dollar proposal to fund water projects in the area.
A subcommittee of the group Action 22, has tentatively backed Referendum A, which will be on the statewide ballot in November. The tally, however, wasn't formal since not all the committe members voted.
Action 22's full board will vote next month on whether to endorse the referendum. The group represents 22 counties in southeastern Colorado.
A similar group in western Colorado is not taking a position on the proposal but has questioned whom it will benefit. Club 20 represents government and business interests in western Colorado.
