Coors Company Changes

The board of directors of Golden-based Adolph Coors Company has unanimously approved a proposal to change its state of legal incorporation -- to Delaware.

But company officials say it doesn't mean Coors is leaving Colorado.

A shareholder vote on the proposal is scheduled for October.

Coors chairman Peter H. Coors says the reincorporation will help the company and its shareholders by obtaining the benefits of Delaware's comprehensive corporate law.

The proposed reincorporation would not result in any change in the company's name, headquarters, business, jobs, management, or taxes payable to Colorado.

The Denver Business Journal reports seven of Colorado's top ten companies based on number of employees are already incorporated in
Delaware.
