The phone application Trapster, promises to alert drivers of speed traps in their area. And it's free.

The idea is, that if you see police waiting to nab a speeding car, you would tap your phone and alert Trapster of the speed trap. The next driver with the application to drive by that spot, would then be alerted of the trap.

" I wish everyone knew at all times where a speed trap was because it would force the police to do something else," Mike Makinney says. He doesn't have a phone that would support the application, but he says if he did, he would get it.

But some drivers, like Matt House, think it could be abused. "I think people shouldn't speed in the first place."

Colorado Springs Police Sergeant L.C. Morgan says, anything that will cause drivers to slow down in dangerous areas is a good thing.

You can download the application at the link below.
