AFA Investigation

The El Paso County district attorney's office expects to decide in the next few days whether to pursue a case involving an Air Force Academy cadet accused of sexual assault.

Assistant District Attorney Dan May says he expects a decision
soon. But he declined to comment on a report the district
attorney's office, rather than academy lawyers, would handle
the case.

The district attorney's office and the academy have both
reviewed the allegations because they involve a civilian woman and
an off-campus incident. Academy officials declined comment.

Colorado Springs police say they found a woman incoherent in the
back of the cadet's pickup truck in an incident last month.

Police say the case revolves around whether the woman was sober
enough to consent to sex.
