Krystal, it's not really that confusing...Hopped-up trucker speeds toward the Springs with his load of rubber dog 's' or whatever. Some pesky cars get in his way and he blasts through 'em.

To many cars on the road and to many people from S. California and Texas who should not be driving in winter conditions period. Most of these 'fatality' wrecks involve an out of stater at some point anyways.

Most people here cannot drive in snow conditions and drive 15 miles per hour and cause accidents. If this trucker could drive 55 I'm sure it wasn't a white out condition. People in this state need to learn what winter really is and learn how to drive. Yes I'm one of those cars that fly by you when it snows and has never caused an accident or lost control of my car. I grew up in the midwest and actually learned how to drive in the winter.

My family and I are deeply saddened by Ginger's passing. She was a sweet person who was always interested in how others were doing. I hope that the law is just in the punishment of the trucker. We were also involved in an accident caused by a semi with fatal results. We can only pray that Ginger, her Mom and dogs did not suffer. May God bring peace to their souls and their family and friends.

I agree, I see the State Troopers turning a blind eye to misdeeds by truckers and others! I've seen Mexicans towing old cars down I25 with an old clothes line, rock haulers spilling gravel and breaking windows (Stay back 2000 Ft!) and truckers hogging the left lane. The troopers go after the 6MPH over the limit cars because it's easy pickings, easy money...15 min for the ticket and back on the road for another score. Those other safety related pull overs take way too much time!

I feel terrable for the ladies in the Jeep! Little did they know, when the left home that fateful day, that they would be burned alive on the highway by a meth head with a ninth grade education!

I am as fearful of those going 55mph as those doing 15mph. Wonder if the cars were as lit up as possible with their flashers too.

What was this idiot thinking? 55 MPH in a blizzard; hits 3 other vehicles, kills 2 innocent people! Prosecute to the fullest entent of the law (the guy deserves jail time), revoke his CDL permanently, throw the book at him! I agree with the comments from Kay; too bad it had to take an accident of this magnitude to get our blood boiling and posting these comments. I travel quite often; most truckers are courteous and professional, IMHO. It's the maveriks like this guy who needs to be punished. My condolences to the families of those who died in this terrible accident.

Not all the blame can be placed on OTR drivers. Companies and their dispatchers push the drivers to drive fast and for long periods of time. They threaten to fire the drivers if they don't comply. Who wants to lose their job now? Ticketing the drivers will only cost the the little guy, and not solve the problems. I believe the driver in this case was going way to fast for conditions. However, don't stereotype all drivers as unsafe.

Kay, are ignorant or just a moron yourself? My husband is a professional truck driver and he would NEVER do something as stupid as this man did. Not all truck drivers are morons and not all drive over the speed limit or ignore us "four-wheelers." You want it unfriendly for truck drivers, so how would you like your groceries to get to the stores? Obviously some "ants" are as ignorant as this truck driver was.

I disagree. Many truck drivers are safe, he happened to be an exception to the case. He was not driving according to conditions, just as many oridinary vehicles do in these conditions. EVERYONE needs to take heed and drive according to the conditions. If they are that bad, then get off the road. I pray for the families of all of the victims. Interstate traffic was originally built for tractor-trailor transportation when it first originated. Anyone driving beyond road conditions should be ticketed or get off the highway!

These truckers think that they can do anything they want on the road. They tailgate you wanting you to go faster. The tickets that they get are no doubt pushed off to the customer in higher prices. Don’t ticket, suspend “all” of their licenses. Maybe a few months without work will get their attention.
