Newborn Found

A newborn left at a Greeley fire station this week is the 15th baby handed over to authorities under the state's safe haven law.

The eight-pound baby boy was left in a tackle box on the doorstep of the Union Colony Fire/Rescue Authority. He was wrapped in towels and asleep.

Colorado's law provides amnesty and anonymity to parents who leave babies three days old or younger at a hospital or fire station. It was passed six years ago after a baby was abandoned in the diaper section of a grocery store.
