There's disagreement among agencies in Colorado as to how many hate crimes happen in the state each year.
In 2002, the Colorado Anti-Violence Program says it logged 159 reports of hate crimes linked to sexual orientation.
But law enforcement agencies only tallied 13.
The discrepancy is prompting activists to renew their calls for better reporting of hate crimes.
According to the FBI there were 7462 hate crimes across the country last year.
That's a 23 percent decrease from the year before.
They say 98 of them happened in Colorado.
