Coors Field Escalator Tests

By: Associated Press
Updated: Sat 7:10 PM, Aug 09, 2003

Two Coors Field escalators will be loaded with 20-thousand pounds each on Tuesday and Wednesday to test their brakes and other equipment, a city official said Friday.

The city is still trying to determine the cause of a July 2nd
escalator accident that injured 35 people at the end of Colorado
Rockies ballgame and fireworks show.

Julius Zsako, spokesman for the Denver Community Planning and
Development Department, said inspectors first will test a stadium
escalator that has been working normally.
