Man Coughs Up Nail Stuck In His Nose
Going to the doctor doesn't get any weirder than this. A Colorado Springs man gets an MRI, but ends up getting a lot more than that.

Mr or Mrs Safescan...it is obvious you sell the product that you have told everyone to use. Unfortunatly it doesn't work and would not have found this nail in this patients nose. As an MRI tech not a sales person, I know that good patient care takes more than waving a "magic wand".

If the doctor made a gaffe, it's not the writer's fault. It says the doctor thinks it was there 30 years because if the patient doesn't recall, it probably happened as a child. Some of you aren't reading. It doesn't just mention 30yrs in the headline! Also, the vast majority of television pieces are written to read aloud. We generally speak more simplistically than we write. By contrast, you will see news articles for print publication written to about the 10th grade level. You won't see much beyond that because half of the population is functionally illiterate. Look how few people complaining about how this was written up have used proper spelling or grammar! Next, there are plenty of stories about bloody gun rampages and the economy. There's nothing wrong with a break from that every now and then! The story should have identified the doctor, hospital or town but I imagine they kept it short for the text-messaging types who lack an attention span.

As someone who performs MRI's, stuff like this can happen occassionally but not on a daily basis. So please don't get mad at us when we ask you to clarify your past exposure to metal. If you answer I don't know or maybe, don't be surprised if your sent for an xray.

I am curious to hear how he must feel now that the nail is out. I'll bet he spends less money on pain killers.
