Colorado State Patrol tells 11 News one person has died, and one remains in the hospital, following a two-car accident at Constitution and Marksheffel.

Both directions of Constitution are open Friday morning after being closed for several hours.

State patrol says the accident occurred around 10:30 p.m. Thursday.

Troopers say a pick-up, driven by 20-year-old Jason Archuleta slammed into the driver's side of a Saturn Coupe. Colorado State Patrol says the driver of the coupe, 39-year-old Michael Sargent died later at a hospital.

According to state patrol, Archuleta ran a red light while heading east on Constitution. Sargent was heading north on Marksheffel at impact.

Troopers say Archuleta was ejected from his truck. He was taken to the hospital and is expected to be okay.

According to state patrol, alcohol and drugs may have been involved.

There are many victims in this accident. My heart goes out to the families involved, even those of the 20 year old. I only pray that others will learn from this and be more attentive. Most of all I pray that people will stop drinking (or drugs) while driving, call a friend, it doesn't hurt others.

My heart goes out to the victims family and friends. You'd be amazed how many people here RUN red lights because they're in such a hurry. Why is really beyond me. Better to get there safe than not at all.
