New Laws

(Denver-AP) -- On Monday, 71 new laws will take effect. The new
laws include those regulating telemarketers, requiring sex
offenders to register with authorities and requiring DNA testing
of all felons.

A new law will require telemarketers to buy a list of people who
have signed up on a no-call list. Telemarketers can be fined for
calling people on the list.

Another law will make repeat cases of animal cruelty a felony. And another will centralize sex-offender registries. Lawmakers hope that will cut duplication and increase the number of offenders who register with authorities.
