A one-time youth pastor is accused of downloading child pornography. Now, Colorado Springs police say he may have been victimizing more children recently in our community.

When Robert Bell was arrested, cops say he was already on probation for sexual exploitation of a child in a different case.

The convicted sex offender lives right across the street from a school. We should point out that Bell wasn’t breaking the law. In Colorado, there's no law against registered sex offenders living near schools.

His house on West Van Buren near Cascade and Fillmore, right across the street from Corpus Christi School. A few blocks away is Lincoln Elementary.

Cops say they found explicit pictures of children when they searched Bell’s home.

Out-of-state cops tipped off local investigators. Bell had allegedly been trading inappropriate pictures of children over the Internet. Police say they found proof of that and because of the evidence they found in the house, they believe some of his victims could live here in Colorado Springs. "We're looking more of ages, elementary school," said Sgt. Bill Dehart with the Colorado Springs Police Department.

About his history as a youth pastor, we found out on-line that he's a former United Methodist minister and had been a pastor and therapist in Colorado Springs and in Canon City.

Again, cops say they are still searching for more possible victims and they hope they will come forward.

If you have any information for police, you can call Detective Blackwell 444-7532 or call Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.

How can there be no laws preventing sex offenders from living near elementary schools? Protect our children from these monsters. He needs to be in jail for a long long time. Why do we not perform chemical castration?

I agree with the posts! How can there be a law about selling drugs, but no law about sex offenders living by schools! Also, Another question I have is why was he in the community so early anyway, he is a multiple offender and had charges as recently as 2008, so why isn't he in prison. Ive seen people get more time bouncing checks than molesting children. We should value the safety and innocense of children more than we do
