Colorado prosecutors say Kobe Bryant's lawyers have been trying to give the public information it shouldn't know about his sexual assault case.
Eagle County District Attorney Mark Hurlbert is asking a judge to consider punishing the defense team for disobeying a gag order.
Hurlbert says a retired state judge got information from a Bryant lawyer about another man's semen being found in Bryant's accuser's underwear. He says the judge gave the information to the New York Daily News, which ran a story before the details had been raised in Bryant's preliminary hearing.
The judge had earlier told The Associated Press he was misquoted and had based his comments on what he heard in court.
